What a day! Breaking news on 2GB and MTR

// April 19th, 2010 // Uncategorized

Who would have thought that on our first day broadcasting to our twin cities of Sydney and Melbourne, that such a massive piece of news would break?

To read at 2:03pm that Carl Williams had been murdered, almost floored me.

I even considered it to be a prank, a trick played on me by one of my enemies.

But it was real alright… and who’d have ever thought.

Click below to hear my chat with Ray Watson, former boss of the Armed Robbery Squad in Victoria shortly after news of Williams’ death:

It was a wonderful way to showcase what MTR would do in the Afternoon: to be ready to jump on big news and speak to all the relevant people.

There’s clearly a sense of karma about Williams’ murder and there’ll be a few Police officers and victims’ families, popping the champagne corks.

He was a monster who had no right to live…

As they say, the wages of sin is death!

    So the Solicitor General is of the opinion that the Governor General's future adjudications re the incipient constitutional cricis does not give rise to concerns...

    I did not realise her relationship with her daughter and son in law is such as to enable the above absurdium to be regarded as reasonable.

    Exactly how close do you have to be to the parties for there to be a 'concern'?

    It is incumbent on us to remember that the GG played an active role in Kevin Rudd's campaign for an Australian UN role: this was also contriversial!
    Yet another modus for the discrediting of Labor in it's dying days
